I am Maya Davis and I’m the stylist behind BelleTressTales. With over 10 years as a specialist in braids and locs, I bring expertise and creativity to my hairstyling tutorials and guides.
My passion for creative protective styling began early on, practicing techniques on friends and family. After beautician training and working in top salons, I opened my own braid studio catering to all hair types and occasions.
When not installing the latest colorful braids or neat sisterlocs in the salon, you can find me at home with my two kids, experimenting with fun new stylistic twists on classic looks. As a working mom, I know the importance of chic and convenient braided styles from school to weekends out.
At BelleTressTales, I combine my professional braiding skills with an artistic flair to provide styling inspiration specifically for braids, sisterlocs, and locs. I cover everything from elegant updos to funky color patterns, by hair type, event, and technique. My goal is to educate and empower women to creatively embrace their own unique hair texture in braided protective styles.
